Their Story

This vivacious couple had a meet cute right out of a Rom-Com. Kristin and Steven met working at a restaurant together where he was a bartender and she was a waitress and they spent a few years as friends secretly in love with each other before they finally admitted they had feelings for one another.  Kristin, being the more outgoing one, made the first move and Steven was more than excited she took the leap of faith. They joke that they owe their relationship to all their friends who spent endless hours listening to them talk about each other over their two years of friendship (and pleading with them to get together already!) So when the time came to plan their wedding day they decided to cancel the deposit for the large venue they had originally booked and instead plan an intimate wedding with just those tried and true friends surrounding them.

The couple kept the ceremony simple and used Etsy for most of their décor. They featured Auntie Anne’s pretzels for snacks and metal buckets of beer for their crew.  The bridesmaids all wore beautiful mauve gowns that matched Steven’s blazer. Kristin initially loved her dress but it unfortunately broke during the ceremony. We rushed in to help her and once she saw Steven coming down the aisle, she hiked her dress up, forgot about pomp and circumstance, and ran towards him with excitement.

Kristin says Steven’s vows were her favorite part of the day. “That boy can write!” she exclaimed. They credit Nostalgia Resources, Bridal 911, and Public School 702 for making their day so memorable as well as Cactus Collective for saving Kristin during her dress debacle among other things! Their advice to other couples is to always roll with the punches. “Oh and always bring a jacket just in case your dress breaks, or at least bring safety pins!” joked Kristin.
