What to expect on the day

A vow renewal can be laid back, echo your original wedding day, or be the service you never had complete with all of the micro wedding trimmings. To give you a flavor of how your vow renewal with us could work, here’s an example timeline of the day.

1. Arrive at your ceremony location

You and any guests should be at the venue at least 15 minutes before your service time. Your on-site host brings you and your guests to the ceremony site where your succulent bouquet and boutonniere are waiting for you. You’ll also meet your dedicated photographer.

2. The ceremony

With guests seated you’re invited to walk the aisle together or take a traditional approach. Your modern minister leads the 10-minute service, inviting you to exchange vows, readings, and any affirmation tokens such as new rings or jewelry. Relax and enjoy it! Your photographer is capturing every beautiful moment.

3. Your ceremony celebration

As an added extra, book a ceremony celebration and enjoy a glass of champagne and cake at your venue. It’s the perfect way for you and your guests to toast your love and happiness right after the ceremony.

4. Wedding day photoshoot

Each location offers stunning photo opportunities. Like all wedding ceremonies, we want to help you make the most of them and capture beautiful memories of your special day. Having photographed hundreds of weddings before, your photographer suggests poses and shots that help you have fun and relax in front of the camera.

5. Continue the celebrations

An on-site host escorts you and your guests back to your transport so you can carry on with any reception plans you’ve made.

Do we need legal documents for a vow renewal?

As you’re already married, no legal documents are needed for a vow renewal.

Can we book our own officiant?

Peachy Keen Unions are our official celebrants for all services. But as a vow renewal has no legal implications a friend or family member can lead the ceremony. Just let us know this is what you want.

How many guests can we have?

This service is ideal for couples wanting a very small, intimate vow renewal, so guest numbers are limited to 25.

Can we add more photography?

A full 90 minutes of photography is included in the service, along with photo editing. This begins when the ceremony starts. If you’d like photography before or after the service let us know on the contact form below.

Do you arrange transport?

So your day runs smoothly it’s important you and your guests get to the venue on time and safely. While transport isn’t included in this service, please see our preferred vendor list for more details on reliable transport services.

What should I say during a vow renewal?

Relationships change over time. There may be promises you want to make to your partner now that you didn’t think of (or need to say) when you got married. If you’d like, you can book extra time with the officiant to help you write your vows or our blog about vow renewal ceremonies may provide the inspiration you need.
