McKenzi Taylor, the original micro wedding expert in Las Vegas, is predicting couples will celebrate their five-year wedding anniversary in record numbers this year. Vow renewals give couples a chance to make up for special days that were ruined in 2020 due to Covid restrictions.
The fifth wedding anniversary is the first big milestone year for newly married couples, and for people who were forced to trade large gatherings for clunky impersonal Zoom ceremonies and receptions, 2025 is forecasted to be the year of the “I Do” Take 2.
Taylor says, “It only makes sense that there’s going to be a rise in vow renewals. People were robbed of the special moments, interactions and rituals that make up the best day of their lives. It’s time to reclaim those meaningful moments with a five year vow renewal.”
According to The Knot’s 2020 Real Weddings Study, 90 percent of couples made changes to their wedding plans due to COVID-19 during the worst of the pandemic in 2020.
With that many couples drastically altering their trip to the altar, changes to the vow renewal patterns five years later are inevitable.
