How Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Should Get Married According to CCW’s Biggest Swiftie

They’re engaged!

Swifties everywhere are still buzzing about our English teacher and our gym teacher getting engaged. And the wedding industry is preparing for how the Taylor Swift Effect will alter the wedding landscape not just for Swifties and KC Chiefs fans, but everyone else too.

Until it happens, all anyone can do is guess. That’s why I’ve enlisted the help of the biggest Swiftie on my team, Lauren from sales, for some help with this blog. She’s been dreaming of this news since the couple’s first date. Now that the engagement era is here, I’ve enlisted her to help predict all the details of how T & T should get married.

When Will Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce Get Married?

Logic

Most NFL players tend to hold these sorts of things in the summer during the off season. NY Jets joke incoming in 3…2…1… Members of some teams could feasibly hold their wedding in January or early February, during the NFL playoffs, because they’ll be sitting at home watching the games from their couch. ZING! But for someone playing for a perennial championship-contending team like the Kansas City Chiefs, I wouldn’t expect a major life event to be planned at that time of year.

Annnnnd, here we go. That sound you just heard was non-sports fans in every relationship on the planet groaning in frustration. I can hear it now, “What do you mean we can’t pick date XYZ?!?! Ughhh there’s no perfect date. There’s a ball game every weekend!”

Sorry folks. It’s a fact of life. The NFL owns a day of the week. (and sometimes four) So that means that the earliest we would expect it to happen would be late February or early March of 2026.

As long as we’re speculating, we need to throw in the possibility of Travis retiring from his playing career into the mix. At age 35, he’s getting old for an NFL player, and not many tight ends play past their mid 30s. So, could we see a retirement in the days or weeks following the end of the Chiefs season? That would certainly free him up for a new era in his life.

The timing of their engagement announcement might also hold some clues. If you want to make a major announcement, but in doing so you also want to control the size of the splash, releasing the news right before a three-day weekend is a good way to do it. Perhaps they’ll pick a wedding date that also helps them avoid as much of the spotlight as possible. Lauren and I can think of one day a year when all eyes are on something else. Can you guess what it is? That’s right, Super Bowl Sunday.

We’re all just speculating, but our guess is the wedding takes place during Super Bowl week in 2027.

That might not be the Taylor Swift Easter-Egg-clue-decoding type answer you were all hoping for, but we’ve got one more reason for selecting this particular weekend. Super Bowl Weekend in 2027 is on Valentine’s Day weekend. V-day is actually Sunday the 14th, but, you guys, Saturday is the 13th! 13 is Taylor’s favorite number. How great would it be for both fanbases to wake up to fresh photos from the wedding on the morning of the Super Bowl? It would be like Christmas morning times a million!

Prediction

We say Travis retires at the end of this upcoming season. And the couple waits until the world is paying attention to the 2027 big game to hold their big day… You heard it here first! Mark your calendars 2/13/2027.

Where Will The Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Wedding Be?

Guess 1: VEGAS!

An unannounced small intimate ceremony for sure. That’s been the trend for celebrity couples recently and I think Taylor and Travis follow suit. Taylor goes years between interviews with the media, so we don’t think she’ll all of a sudden invite a huge crowd to her wedding and bring on the attention that would come with it. She likes to control the story, and it would be incredibly hard to keep things under wraps if they went big. For that reason, we think a small intimate ceremony in Las Vegas is a distinct possibility.

The Wedding Capital of the World is a good place to hide if you got Taylor Swift money. Not only are there dozens of chapels and just as many stunning outdoor locations to say “I do”, but Vegas also does hospitality better than anywhere else. Vegas has the swankiest guest suites, the best DJs and entertainers (you know there’s going to be great music at Taylor’s wedding) and a near certainty of no rain on your wedding day because it’s a desert! Vegas has a lot going for it in this horse race. Not to mention she’s got a thing for showgirls right now.

Here’s one more tidbit that informs our prediction. Swifties love trying to guess what Taylor is going to do next, and prior to everyone talking about the engagement, some of the talk was whether or not she would do a residency at the Vegas Sphere. It would be a smart move for many reasons. But, would Vegas be a good wedding choice? It has been for mega stars in the past. Elvis did it secretly back in May 1967 and two years later became the headlining superstar in residence at the International Hotel. Could history repeat itself? We’ll see.

If we’re wrong about it taking place at an intimate outdoor venue in Las Vegas, (the lodge at Mt. Charleston and the Lee Canyon Ski Resort, give off major wintery/Christmas vibes) then we think it would be incredible to see the wedding take place at a football stadium. Invite the world, sell tickets, sell merch and capitalize on the fandom. Taylor loves taking care of her fans. Wouldn’t it just be the most insane artist-to-fans gift ever, if she had them all come to her wedding? Allegiant Stadium is an indoor stadium, you guys. So there wouldn’t be any weather issues. And if any NFL city knows how to throw a party it would be Vegas. I think those are the two extremes, and Vegas offers both.

Guess 2: CANADA

If the wedding doesn’t take place in Las Vegas, then our Swiftie instincts tell us to guess Canada. For all the things Canada is that Las Vegas isn’t. And because you don’t hear about too many crazy paparazzi in Canada, do you?

If they want to avoid a circus, we think they’ll choose to go somewhere remote and difficult to get to and Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge on Vancouver Island’s west coast sounds about right. The luxurious resort has 25 safari tents that have more than a slight resemblance to the ones depicted in the music video for Swift’s “Wildest Dreams” song. And you can only get there by boat or seaplane. 25 tents doesn’t sound like a lot, but I also think she’ll have a micro wedding with about 50 guests, so 25 tents is seemingly perfect.

Swift has in the past vacationed in nature-filled places (many times) including Park City in Utah, The Lakes District in the UK and Big Sky in Montana. So, Canada could be next for a destination wedding.

We know she loves nature and disappearing into it. She’s not shy about writing lyrics that say as much in songs such as “The Lakes”, which paints pictures of escaping the paparazzi while bathed in nature.

For the nature-loving Swift, the remote sound where this lodge is located has a uniquely protected ecosystem which comprises temperate rainforest, lakes, rivers and alpine peaks and the lodge takes full advantage. The lodge could provide her wedding guests over-the-top bespoke experiences as diverse as heli-fly fishing and whale and bear watching sailings, without batting an eye.

How?

Style/Theme

Taylor has often depicted the female romantic lead as a princess in her art. We think that might give a hint to how she could add unique personalization to her wedding day. Think tiaras, flowing dresses, a fancy ballroom. That sort of thing.

With an Instagram handle like KillaTrav, you might question Travis’s bonafides as a charming prince, but he’s certainly won the battle for her heart against plenty of suitors. I can see him playing along and acting the princely part. Because he’s not always bulldozing linebackers, safeties and cornerbacks. Taylor wouldn’t have fallen for him if he wasn’t as warm as a loaf of fresh sourdough and as fuzzy as one of her three cats on his inside. And NFL fans know he’s hawked enough products on TV to have at least some acting chops. But she’s very millennial, and we don’t see a lot of over-the-top princess-style wedding day extra touches amongst our millennial couples, so who knows. Maybe she’ll keep the princess details subtle and limit it to just glitter and sparkles on the decorations.

Guest Experiences

She’ll for sure take care of all her guests. Nobody in her inner circle is paying for their own expenses. I see her making it very experiential for the guests. Given her admiration for Christmas and all its twinkly trappings, maybe she’d rent out a place like Grand View Lodge in Minnesota, Thunder Bay Resort in Michigan or one of the Kohler family of resorts in Wisconsin. This way they could hold a cozy wintery wedding in the great north woods. There’s some really nice resorts in those three states complete with ice skating, snow shoeing and dark skies perfect for star gazing.

The Engagement Era

As Swifties and wedding coordination experts, Lauren and I would like to think we have inside knowledge, but it’s really anyone’s guess what Taylor and Travis will do for their wedding. We just know that it’s fun to dream. We hope that if you’re also in your engagement era that you’ll find your dream-come-true wedding here in Las Vegas.
