If you’re sitting around watching the stars with your partner as you try to pick the best wedding date, then rest assured. Because as Paul McCartney once wrote, “Venus and Mars are alright tonight”. Those lyrics are nearly 50 years old, but the sentiment still rings true if you pick a wedding date according to astrology.
New moons are the most obvious choice for starting a new journey together. And luckily they come around once a month and last for a couple/three days. This means there are many new moon dates to pick from each year. Some are better suited for matters of the heart than others. We’ve explained why in our blog, When Should You Get Married According to Astrology?

US Holidays and Three-Day Weekends
In the United States, three-day weekends and holiday time off of work is like gold.
Unlike other countries with more generous paid time off policies and more national holidays, workers in America have a scant few to take advantage of.
For this reason, trips, vacations and events on or around these holidays or extended breaks can get planned out far in advance.
If you’re coming to Vegas from overseas or out of state, this is good to keep in mind. Because we operate in a popular destination city, things can get busy at popular travel times.
Be careful selecting one of these dates. It’s a double edged sword. Also, some people will be more likely to be able to attend thanks to the added time off, while others definitely won’t be able to attend a wedding because they already have plans.
That being said, if you do choose one of these already festive dates, there’s a lot of potential for wedding themes related to each of the holidays.
Memorial Day Weekend is a favorite because it’s the unofficial start to summer and everyone is excited for the warmer and longer days.
Let’s take a look at the upcoming long holiday weekends you could take advantage of when planning your wedding for 2025 or beyond.

Unlucky Dates
There are many historically unlucky dates to say “I do” that stem from different cultures so if you err on the superstitious side then you might want to steer clear of them:
The Ides of March
After the assassination of Julius Caesar on March 15 in 44 BC the Ides of March got a bad rap.
Then when Shakespeare wrote it into one of his famous plays with a soothsayer telling Julius Caesar, “Beware the Ides of March,” that feeling of dread only grew.
Since then, couples have notoriously steered clear of March 15th as their wedding day.
Leap Years
Greeks and Romans have always held the belief that starting any new beginning, whether it be marriage or child birth, on leap year is bad luck. We will see a Leap Year in 2028.
