Men Who Went with Their Heart When Choosing Their Wedding Wardrobe

Cactus Collective Weddings is all about breaking the rules. We want couples to enjoy their wedding day on their terms and to celebrate their love story with intention. As the original micro wedding experts in Las Vegas, we love it when our couples go off script. That goes for everything from guest counts to venue choices, and of course, styling.

In 2025, we saw some wild wardrobe choices from the men and we loved everyone one of them.

Here’s to the innovative guys that dressed to impress, the dudes that disobeyed the dress code, and the trend-setters who tiptoed around tradition.

Cream Dreamboats

Creams and light tans are as far away from a black tuxedo as you can get from a color value standpoint, unless you’re talking a white ensemble (which we saw a few of too). Going light and airy was very popular in 2025. Black was only outnumbered by cream.

Red Renegades

Less likely to be chosen (but still popular) were red suits. Looking through the 2025 archives, I only found a handful of red examples. Red is a very striking choice for a wedding tux or suit. The examples on display here indicate there’s two ways to go about dressing in red. Bright and bold or toned down and understated. They’re both dramatic ways to break the rules and look great on these gents.

Something Blue

Blue was popular throughout the entire year with our grooms. 2025 grooms proved that blue can be embraced with confidence as a great alternative to a black tuxedo. Blue won’t dethrone black anytime soon, but it’s becoming a safer and safer alternative.

The Green Gang

As I recently told the Boho Weddings Blog, green was a go-to for many couples in 2025, and I think it will grow on more guys in the future. Nature is having a moment, the outsidey vs outdoorsy debate rages on, and green is here to stay. Check out these guys who made green look good in 2025.

Brilliant in Brown

Given that the Pantone Color of the Year for 2025 was Mocha Mousse, then maybe brown wasn’t such a surprise last year. A few of our grooms took style cues from the world’s best dressed and went with this unconventional, yet stylish, choice. Brown comes in a number of different hues, and I think all these guys nailed it. Many of our leading men wore brown, from a rusty orangish-brown to a velvety chocolate and everything in between. Looking good guys!

Princely Patterns

Color isn’t the only way to make a fashion statement. Patterns can be a perfect way to switch things up, too! Patterns give movement and energy to an item of clothing that is often described as stiff. If you’re reluctant to wear a black tuxedo because it feels monotonous or unoriginal, pick a party-startin’ pattern. These examples get a Cactus Collective Weddings stamp of approval.

Wild Card

I don’t know what the impetus is for some of these wild card-looks and why guys chose them, but, omg, are they fabulous or what?! I’m sure we get some rule-breakers in part because we operate in Las Vegas, where anything goes. But I think some guys choose to go off-script because of the vibes they want on their wedding day. Either way, I’m here for it!

When choosing to have a non-traditional micro wedding or elopement, there are no rules. That goes for the venue, as well as for the fashion. Wear what you want. Invite your inner circle. Love who you love. And don’t apologize.
