Happy New Year to all the Cactus Collective Weddings Blog readers. Many couples get engaged over the holidays and if you’ve now got a wedding to plan, I hope you’ll find some good inspiration in my list of 2025 wedding trends.
Intimate Ceremonies Create Memorable Experiences
I believe micro weddings will make another leap in popularity in 2025. With 50 guests or fewer it’s easier for couples to provide the type of celebratory experience-oriented gatherings they were looking more for in 2024. Coordinating experiences, outings, and even tours for a smaller group of intimate friends and family is so much easier than wrangling 150+ guests. Transporting fewer people, feeding fewer people, even surprising fewer people is logistically more doable and manageable.
My team and I are excited to offer stunning venues and intimate ceremonies so you really can have a memorable day with your small group.
Be Playful with Colors
I’m really liking the fun 1970s retro inspired colors. I’ve seen brands around town here in Las Vegas using them in interesting ways in their designs and I think it’s really catching on.
From the purples and blues of Spiegelword’s newest experiential show -DISCOSHOW, to the magentas and greens of Flipper’s Roller Boogie Palace at the Venetian to the orange and yellows of the Las Vegas Aviators Minor League Baseball team, I’m seeing the fun colors come out all over town and when the big boys embrace something, so does everyone else.
Get That Social Media Content
Hiring a content creator for your special day is really catching fire. Couples are excited to get extra snaps and footage from their wedding which they can share, edit and post right away.
As this trend has gained momentum, I’ve assigned a dedicated team member on my staff to fulfill these requests. A content creator has been a very popular add on.
Here in Vegas, we have so many picturesque venues, and photo worthy landmarks that it really makes sense. Couples can’t get enough and are booking extra photo time, Downtown Las Vegas Photo Walking Tours and second locations so that they can capture the energy and excitement they are feeling on their wedding day in one of America’s most interesting cities.
Dress For Wedding Day Success
I spend a lot of time in the Las Vegas Weddings and Elopements Facebook groups and see attire change with the seasons. Las Vegas is such a year-round wedding destination that dress choices really vary depending on the weather and women are always looking for advice from the Facebook groups about how to dress for the weather.
Our winters are really mild compared to those of the Northeast and the Upper Midwest, but it still gets chilly in December, January and February. So, we’ll see sequined jackets, leather coats with rhinestone “Bride” insignias, and even fur wraps in addition to longer length dresses. Then of course when it heats up in the summer brides want to go light, airy and shorter so that they aren’t roasting. More so than year-to-year, trends follow the seasons here in Las Vegas.
Old Fashioned Memories
I’m seeing an uptick in couples wanting a live painter at their wedding. Couples these days are looking for ways to connect with simpler times without so much digital stuff and technology crowding out meaningful moments.
A live painter is a great way to slow down a bit, capture the feelings and emotions of a wedding and reflect on the memories rather than the amount of likes or shares or retweets.
