Their Story

Of all things, Carly and Mike met discussing mortgage loans. Mike had been handling her loan and she always thought he was giving her special treatment because he was so nice, but soon realized he was just that great of a person. She loved how he always sounded like he was smiling over the phone. When they met in person finally there was a strong connection but it took Mike 3 months to ask her out after the deal with her house was done. “He said he never thought I’d say yes!” said Carly. Luckily she did and the two have been together ever since.

Mike planned the proposal for months and got all of Carly’s good friends involved. He took her on a grand trip to Cabo with all of her friends and popped the question on the beach in front of everyone. He also had every detail covered from a photographer to flowers and even a cake!

They knew they wanted to get married in Red Rock Canyon but chose Cactus Collective Weddings because of the great reviews they read, and they were not disappointed. “Everyone made us feel focused, happy, and that the moment was about us. Angie and McKenzi were amazing and truly made our day,” said Carly.

The couple chose to see each other before the wedding and ride to the space together. They said they wouldn’t have changed a thing because every step of their journey has been together so it was fitting to have that moment together as well. Carly looked stunning in a classic form fitting dress from lulus.com and Mike topped off his dashing suit with a cowboy hat.

Carly says their favorite moment was when Angie read the Bible verse Ruth 1:16 because they have that verse hanging over their bed and it’s holds a special meaning for them. “We were both moved by the personalization of the wedding ceremony itself to us and our story,” said Carly. We love hearing that from our couples!
