It’s Love, Any Way You Slice It

Careful selection of ingredients. Steady but rhythmic kneading. The perfect baking time. These are what make a great pizza. And these elements of pizza-making do not just remind us of the attributes, hard work, and time necessary to nurturing a great relationship; pizza also plays an important role in Kim and Matt’s love story.

Matt loves pizza, and Kim describes him as her “slice of joy.” They met in their freshmen year in college, but the romance between the two began two years later when Kim invited Matt to a party. Sparks of a blooming romantic relationship easily set off and they began seeing each other everyday. It was on a night of alcohol and pizza when Matt finally confessed his love for Kim. Kim, as a result of her surprise, dropped Matt’s pizza. And from that night on, the two have been inseparable.

Matt, this time not needing the help of alcohol, took Kim to her “happy place” in Edgewater, Cleveland and popped the question under a willow tree. Kim, this time not dropping any pizza, said yes with tears of joy.

On the day of the wedding, Matt helped Kim put on her mermaid-style dress, and he looked dashing in his crisp black suit. The ceremony was held in the scenic Red Rock Canyon on October 15, 2020. These moments, especially the way Matt looked at Kim while exchanging their vows, make up this unforgettable day for our couple. The distinct colors of the flowers and the beauty of the landscape vividly mirror the tranquil joy of this day.

Kim and Matt love to spend the day together, just enjoying each other’s company. Morning coffee by the lake, trying out new places, or getting a bite somewhere (which probably includes pizza) is how they usually spend their time. But whatever activity, exciting or relaxed, their love and fondness for each other will surely keep them together, through thick and thin crust.
